Dan Oakes has called San Tan Valley home for more than 23 years. He and his wife, Shannon, have built their life here, serving and investing in the community while raising their five children—each of whom attended local schools in the area. Their long-standing roots reflect a deep commitment to the families, neighborhoods, and values that make San Tan Valley a place people are proud to call home.

Dan is the Founder and Director of the Arizona Family Institute, a locally based mental health practice serving families throughout the East Valley. Through his professional and community work, he has spent decades listening carefully, leading teams, managing resources, and helping people navigate complex challenges with clarity and integrity. Dan respects the faith and beliefs of all who live in San Tan Valley and is committed to responsible economic development that strengthens local resources, supports public safety, and helps the entire community thrive—today and for generations to come.
